From Cairns: Fitzroy Island Half-Day Trip

Take the ferry from Cairns
to Fitzroy Island

Check in directly at the fast catamaran at Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns. Depart Cairns at 10:45 am and cruise south along the calm coastline for about 45 minutes to reach Fitzroy Island.

Swim at the beaches and snorkel the coral reef

Fitzroy Island is a place where you can see coral right off the beach. Swim at its various beaches or snorkel the reef to spot a wide range of marine life. Snorkel gear is included with the snorkel option, and with the glass-bottom boat option you can admire the reef and marine life without getting wet.

Walk the national park rainforest trails

The 339 hectares of rainforest covering 94% of the island are protected and managed as a national park. The trails suit all fitness levels, so you can explore different parts of the island at a relaxed pace. There are 5 main walking trails on the island, ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours, each requiring a different level of fitness.

Enjoy free time and return to Cairns

After more than 2 hours of free time, leave the island at 2:00 pm and head back to Cairns. A packed picnic lunch is included if you choose the lunch option.
