Fitzroy Island is a continental island about 45 minutes from Cairns, surrounded by national park rainforest and clear water. From the moment you step off the ferry, you have up to 7 hours to enjoy the island freely, and the friendly crew, who know the island well, will share the information you need for your day.

Snorkel the reef right off the beach

Coral and marine life are close to shore, so you can walk straight into the water and snorkel without a boat. Choose the snorkel gear option to explore underwater right from the beach, or pick the glass-bottom boat option if you would like to view the reef without getting wet. Simply select your preferred package when booking.

Hike the national park trails to the lookout

The island lies within a protected national park, so the natural environment is pristine and uncrowded. Follow the trails through lush rainforest to lookouts with sweeping views over the Coral Sea. There are 5 main walking trails in the national park, each varying in duration (30 minutes to 3 hours) and fitness level, so you can choose one that suits you.

Swim in clear water and relax on the beach

Take a dip in the clear, warm water at one of the beautiful beaches of Tropical North Queensland, or simply relax on the sand. Choose the picnic lunch option to have lunch on the island as well. After a full day, you will take the ferry back to Cairns.
