From Fukuoka: Karato Market, Mojiko Retro & Tanga Market Food Tour

Taste freshly made sushi and seafood
at Karato Market

Board the bus at the meeting point in Tenjin or Hakata and travel about 80 minutes to arrive at Karato Fish Market around 9:30 a.m. For about 1.5 hours, choose freshly prepared sushi, sashimi and seafood snacks from the stalls and watch the chefs prepare food right in front of you.

Stroll the harbor streets of Mojiko Retro

A 20-minute bus ride takes you to Mojiko Retro, a charming port town with beautifully preserved Western-style brick buildings from the Meiji era. Spend about 70 minutes wandering the picturesque streets, enjoying harbor views, taking photos, shopping and snacking.

Explore Kokura Castle, Uomachi and Tanga Market

In the afternoon, travel about 30 minutes by bus to the 17th-century Kokura Castle and spend about 20 minutes looking around and taking photos. Castle admission is not included and can be purchased on site if you wish.

Next, explore Uomachi Gintengai, a covered shopping arcade, for about 40 minutes, and the retro-style Tanga Market with over 220 shops for about 30 minutes. Try yaki udon, freshly baked bread, street food and local snacks, and pick up souvenirs.

Visit Dazaifu Tenmangu and return to Fukuoka

Travel about 80 minutes by bus to Dazaifu Tenmangu and spend about 70 minutes sightseeing and taking photos. The tour then ends about 45 minutes later at the drop-off point of your selected option.
