Tours & activities worldwide.
This tour departs from Fukuoka and follows the North Kyushu coast to a market, a shrine and a retro port district, ending the day with the night view from Mt. Sarakura. After crossing the Kanmon Bridge and enjoying views of the strait, enjoy sushi at Karato Market on Fridays to Sundays and Japanese holidays, or stroll the old port streets of the Mojiko Retro district on other days. Take photos at Motonosumi Shrine, where 123 red torii gates lead toward the sea, and look down on the lights of Kitakyushu from Mt. Sarakura, ranked among Japan's "New Three Major Night Views." A Chinese- and English-speaking guide accompanies the tour.

Cross the Kanmon Bridge
to Karato Market or Mojiko Retro
Board the tour bus at Lawson Oriental Hotel Fukuoka in front of Hakata Station. Departure is at noon in summer (May 1–September 30) and 10:00 AM in winter (October 1–April 30). Cross the Kanmon Bridge connecting Honshu and Kyushu and enjoy views of the Kanmon Strait from the window.
On Fridays to Sundays and Japanese holidays, spend about 1 hour at Karato Market, "the kitchen of Kanmon," soaking up the atmosphere of a fishermen's direct-sale market and tasting freshly made seafood sushi (at your own expense). On other days, the Mojiko Retro district is visited instead to stroll its old port streets.
Walk through the red torii tunnel
at Motonosumi Shrine

Spend about 1 hour at Motonosumi Shrine, named by CNN as one of the 31 most beautiful places in Japan. Walk through the tunnel of 123 red torii gates winding toward the sea, and try tossing a coin into the uniquely placed offering box. Capture the iconic contrast of the red gates against the blue sea.
Enjoy the Kitakyushu night view from the top of Mt. Sarakura

Spend about 1 hour 30 minutes at Mt. Sarakura, Kitakyushu's most famous night-view spot. Ride the ropeway (¥1,230, at your own expense) to the summit and admire the "million-dollar night view," recognized as one of Japan's "New Three Major Night Views." If the ropeway is affected by weather or maintenance, Akama Shrine or Fukuoka Tower will be visited instead. The tour ends when the bus returns to Fukuoka.
※ On weekends and holidays, traffic may cause delays or sights may close early, so the route order and length of stays are adjusted to daily traffic conditions.
※ Night views depend on weather and visibility and are not guaranteed.
