At Motonosumi Shrine, introduced by CNN as one of the 31 most beautiful places in Japan, walk along 123 red torii gates overlooking the sea. Finally, admire Kitakyushu's "million-dollar night view" from Mt. Sarakura, ranked among Japan's "New Three Major Night Views."

Cross the Kanmon Bridge
and enjoy lunch at Karato Market
Meet at the Lawson convenience store in front of Hakata Station and depart by bus. Departure is at 12:00 in summer (May 1–September 30) and 10:00 AM in winter (October 1–April 30). Pass over the Kanmon Bridge connecting Honshu and Kyushu and enjoy about 10 minutes of views of the blue sea and strait from the bus.
Next, spend about 60 minutes, including lunch, at Karato Market, known as "the kitchen of Kanmon." You can try fresh seafood, sushi and local snacks at your own expense. When the market is closed, the Mojiko Retro district, with its Western-style buildings and vintage cafes, is visited instead.
Walk along the red torii gates of Motonosumi Shrine

Spend about 60 minutes at Motonosumi Shrine, selected by CNN as one of the 31 most beautiful places in Japan. Stroll along 123 red torii gates on a cliff overlooking the blue sea, and try the traditional good-luck coin toss into the offering box set high on a gate. The inner hall is closed on weekends, holidays, May 2–10 and August 8–16, but the coastal torii path remains open.
Admire the million-dollar night view from Mt. Sarakura

Travel by bus to Mt. Sarakura, one of Japan's "New Three Major Night Views," and spend about 90 minutes admiring Kitakyushu's "million-dollar night view." The ropeway fare must be paid on site. If the ropeway is not operating, an alternative such as Akama Shrine or Fukuoka Tower will be visited instead. The bus then takes about 2 hours to return to the starting point, where the tour ends.
※ No partial refund is given if an alternative is visited due to Karato Market closure or ropeway suspension.
※ On weekends and holidays, the route or times may change due to traffic or early closures.
※ Night views depend on weather and visibility and are not guaranteed.
