Tours & activities worldwide.
This bus tour departs from Fukuoka and visits the highlights of North Kyushu and Yamaguchi Prefecture in one day. At Akiyoshido Cave, a Special Natural Monument of Japan, you will see stalactites, stalagmites and terraced limestone formations. You will also visit Motonosumi Inari Shrine, where 123 red torii gates run from the hillside to the seaside cliffs, and Tsunoshima Bridge stretching over turquoise waters. A guide speaking English, Chinese and Japanese accompanies the tour, and free time at each stop lets you explore at your own pace.

Depart from Hakata Station and stop
at the Kanmon Strait viewpoint
Meet your guide at 8:30 AM at the Lawson Oriental Hotel Fukuoka store in front of the Chikushi Exit of Hakata Station and depart by bus. First, you will stop for about 20 minutes at the Mekari Parking Area in Kitakyushu to enjoy sweeping views of the Kanmon Strait from the observation deck and browse local specialties from Kyushu and Shimonoseki.
Explore the mysterious underground world of Akiyoshido Cave

Akiyoshido is a 10.7 km limestone cave designated as a Special Natural Monument of Japan, located about 100 m beneath Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park. Along the roughly 1 km sightseeing route, you can see stalactites, stalagmites and huge terraced limestone formations. The cave stays at about 17°C all year, cool in summer and warm in winter.
You will spend about 2 hours here. Cave admission is not included, so those who wish to enter pay separately on site. Lunch is also on your own.
Visit Motonosumi Inari Shrine, where 123 red torii
gates lead to the sea

123 red torii gates run from the hillside down to the cliffs overlooking the sea, creating a striking contrast with the blue sea and sky. During the roughly 40-minute stop, try tossing a coin into the offering box set 6 m high on a torii gate, which is said to bring good luck. There is also a regular offering box nearby. In winter, waves crash into the rock crevices and can send seawater up to 30 m high.
Admire the turquoise sea from Tsunoshima Bridge

Finally, visit Tsunoshima Bridge, which stretches 1,780 m over the blue sea. Often featured in TV commercials, it is a great spot to photograph the bridge and turquoise waters during the roughly 30-minute stop. The bus then takes about 2.5 hours to return to the starting point.
※ Return time may be delayed due to bad weather, traffic, or congestion during Japanese holidays and peak seasons, and visits to some sights may be shortened or rescheduled.
※ Sea views and the winter water spouts depend on weather and wave conditions and are not guaranteed.
