Tours & activities worldwide.
This bus tour departs from near Hakata Station in Fukuoka and covers the highlights of Yamaguchi Prefecture in one day. At Akiyoshido Cave, a designated Special Natural Monument of Japan, you will have 2 hours to explore the stalactites and stalagmites at your own pace. You will also visit Motonosumi Shrine, where 123 red torii gates lead down toward the sea, and cross Tsunoshima Bridge over turquoise waters. A Chinese- and English-speaking guide accompanies the tour, and you can enjoy views of the Kanmon Strait at the Mekari and Dannoura rest areas.

Depart near Hakata Station
and cross the Kanmon Strait
The tour departs at 08:30 from the Lawson convenience store in front of Oriental Hotel Fukuoka, near the Chikushi Exit of Hakata Station. Accompanied by a guide who speaks Chinese and English, you will ride an air-conditioned bus across the Kanmon Strait to Yamaguchi Prefecture. On the way, you will stop for about 20 minutes at the Mekari Parking Area observation deck in Kitakyushu to see the Kanmon Bridge and the strait between Kyushu and Honshu.
Explore Akiyoshido Cave freely for 2 hours

Akiyoshido is a limestone cave designated as a Special Natural Monument of Japan, stretching 10.7 km in total. Along the roughly 1 km sightseeing route, you will see the terraced limestone pools of "Hyakumaizara," the 15 m tall "Golden Pillar," and the wide "Senjojiki" chamber. The cave stays around 17°C all year, so it is cool in summer and warm in winter.
You can explore and take photos at your own pace for 2 hours, and lunch is on your own at the shops and restaurants around the cave. Cave admission is not included and must be paid on site.
Visit Motonosumi Shrine, where red torii gates
lead toward the sea

Traveling along the San'in coast, you will spend about 40 minutes at Motonosumi Inari Shrine on a cliff overlooking the sea. 123 red torii gates line the hillside toward the water, and it is said that tossing a coin into the offering box set about 6 m high on a torii gate brings good luck. In winter, strong waves sometimes push seawater up through the rocks to create a water spout called "Ryugu no Shiofuki."
Cross Tsunoshima Bridge and enjoy the ocean views

The 1,780 m Tsunoshima Bridge connects Honshu with Tsunoshima Island, curving over turquoise waters, and often appears in commercials and TV dramas. You will cross the bridge and enjoy the sea views from the island's viewpoint for about 30 minutes. On the way back, you will stop briefly at the Dannoura Parking Area to see the Kanmon Strait before arriving in Fukuoka at around 6:30 PM.
※ Motonosumi Inari Shrine may be difficult to visit on some weekends, holidays and in peak season (usually March to November). In that case, Fukutoku Inari Shrine will be visited instead.
※ The schedule may be delayed or changed due to bad weather, traffic or holiday congestion.
※ Sea views and Ryugu no Shiofuki depend on weather and wave conditions and are not guaranteed.
