Ride the pickup vehicle from your accommodation on Miyakojima for about 15 minutes to Imgya Marine Garden. A professional local guide who knows the island's ecosystem well welcomes you, and on the way to the jungle you can look forward to the unique sights and sounds of the night. Free hotel pickup is available from most areas of Miyakojima, excluding Ikema Island, Irabu Island and Kurima Island.

Explore the subtropical jungle with a headlamp

Light your way as you enter the lush canopy of tropical trees for a guided walking tour of about 1 hour. With your guide's help, you may spot coconut crabs hiding among the roots, as well as sleeping tropical birds, unique insects and the rarely seen Ryukyu flying fox. Experience the night jungle with all your senses, filled with rustling leaves and the calls of nocturnal animals.

Gaze at the Milky Way away from light pollution

After exploring the jungle, move to a secluded stargazing spot away from light pollution. Miyakojima is known as a great stargazing destination thanks to its clear air, and on clear nights you can see the Milky Way stretching across the sky with the naked eye. Your guide introduces the seasonal constellations and shares stories about the stars.

Return to your accommodation after the tour

After the tour, participants using the pickup service are driven about 15 minutes back to their accommodation. If you met directly at the Imgya No. 2 Parking Lot, the tour ends and disperses on site.
