This ticket lets you walk across Shinkyo, the vermilion bridge of Nikko Futarasan Shrine. Shinkyo is a structure of Futarasan Shrine designated as a National Important Cultural Property, and it was registered as a World Heritage Site in December 1999. Once a sacred bridge used only for shrine events and visits by the shogun, it can now be crossed by anyone with this ticket. It is counted among Japan's three most unusual bridges, together with Kintaikyo in Yamaguchi and Saruhashi in Yamanashi.

On the day of your visit, show your QR code at the Shinkyo ticket office and step onto the bridge. Shinkyo marks the entrance to the sacred site of Nikko, and its vermilion lacquer stands out against the valley scenery. The bridge is 28 m long, 7.4 m wide and 10.6 m above the water.

According to legend, Shinkyo was built at the end of the Nara period, and it was once also called "Onhashi" and "Yamasuge no Jabashi". After being rebuilt in its current form in Kan'ei 13, it was used only for shrine events, visits by the shogun and imperial envoys, while ordinary people crossed Nikko Bridge downstream. It has been open to the public since 1973 and underwent major restoration from 1997.
Ten posts stand along the high railings, each topped with a giboshi ornament. The underside of the deck is lacquered black and the rest is painted vermilion. Its style as an old bridge spanning a mountain gorge is another highlight.
