Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima,
famous for its torii in the sea

Cross the calm sea by ferry from Hiroshima to Miyajima. Founded around 593 and dedicated to three sea goddesses, Itsukushima Shrine is known for its great torii gate standing in the sea, one of the "Three Views of Japan". Together with the primeval forest of Mt. Misen behind it, the shrine became a World Heritage Site in 1996.

Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki
for lunch

Lunch is Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki layered with pork, cabbage, bean sprouts, noodles and egg. Choose regular, no pork with egg, or no pork, no fish powder and no egg.
