Pickup from your accommodation is at 7:30 a.m., and on the way your English-speaking guide shares French history linked to the Loire châteaux. Tickets for Chenonceau, the Royal Château of Amboise and Clos Lucé are all included.

Stroll Chenonceau, the 'Ladies' Château', and its gardens

After about 3 hours on the highway from Paris, you'll arrive at your first stop, Château de Chenonceau. Your guide explains its history and architecture, and you'll receive a brochure describing each room. Discover its history tied to famous French women such as Catherine de' Medici, its arches spanning the River Cher, and its Renaissance gardens with more than 130,000 flowering plants.

See da Vinci's tomb at the Royal Château of Amboise

After free time for lunch in Amboise, visit the Royal Château of Amboise with your guide. A HistoPad interactive video guide lets you explore the history of each room. The 15th-century residence of King Charles VIII shows the transition from Gothic to Renaissance architecture, and you'll also see Leonardo da Vinci's tomb in the Chapel of Saint-Hubert.

Taste wine, then head to da Vinci's Clos Lucé

At a local family winery that has been running for centuries, learn how wine is made and taste 7 wines. Then tour Clos Lucé, linked to the Royal Château of Amboise by an underground passage, with your guide. Da Vinci lived here from 1516 until his death in 1519, and today it is a museum celebrating his life and work.
