At the Fukuoka City Red Brick Culture Museum, built in 1909 by Tatsuno Kingo, the architect of Tokyo Station, admire late Meiji architecture combining deep red brick and white granite. Then head down into Tenjin Underground Mall, known for its design inspired by 19th-century Europe, and feel the atmosphere created by cobblestones, stained glass and soft lighting.
Enjoy dinner at a Tenjin yatai
The highlight is about an hour at a Tenjin yatai. In a cozy atmosphere where locals and travelers share benches, taste signature dishes with the 1,000-yen meal credit per person while your guide helps with ordering and local food. The tour ends in Tenjin.
