Maiko is a unique entity that exists only in Kyoto. After graduating from middle school, they learn dance, singing, and musical instruments to become a full-fledged geiko .

* From JR Kyoto Station West Exit (2nd floor), turn right, walk straight along Nanbokuji Yutsu Road to the 1st floor, cross the Porta underground shopping mall entrance building and walk for about 2 minutes.
(Once you find the Kyoto Tower building, the ticket office is outside on the first floor, across from the Isetan Department Store and Kyoto Central Post Office).
