The Keifuku Randen Tram is operated by the private company Keifuku Electric Railway. Randen actually consists of two lines on the west side of Kyoto City, with the Arashiyama Line running east-west from Shijo-Omiya Station to Keifuku Arashiyama Station. The Kitano Line branches off from the Arashiyama Line in the Katabiranotsuji area and runs to Kitano Hakubaicho Station in the north.
Trams travel from central Kyoto to Arashiyama and northwestern Kyoto tourist attractions (Toei Kyoto Studio Park, Ninna-ji Temple, etc.).
You can also use JR buses.
If the tourist attraction you want to go to is far from the subway or difficult to get to, try using the JR bus! JR Bus operates buses from Kyoto city center to the Takao and Keihoku areas, and operates from Kyoto Station to Ninna-ji, Takao, and Togano-o within the northwestern region.
