Why we recommend the Randen Train

There are several ways to get to Irashiyama Station, the final stop in Kyoto, but we highly recommend taking the Randen Train. The reason is that you can fully feel the romance of traveling on the way to Arashiyama!

Randen Train Route Information

The Randen Train is a vintage tram that has been in operation since 1910. It currently operates on the line from Shijo Omiya Station to Arashiyama Station. The Randen Train comes in purple and gold, and it's a great way to see the scenery outside the window as it moves slowly. 

Introducing the Kyoto Subway Route

The subway is only available on the Kyoto Municipal Subway. The Municipal Subway is a subway line operated by the Kyoto Municipal Transportation Bureau that runs through Kyoto City and Uji City. With this 1-day unlimited pass, you can ride the Municipal Subway for free for one day.

If you need the above route, it is a good idea to buy a pass that is provided as a combo together.

1. Insert it into the subway automatic ticket gate. The date is written on the back of the pass. 
2. The usage method is the same as the bus.
