Highlights
This day tour takes you from your Cairns accommodation to Kuranda, the village in the rainforest. Ride up on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway over World Heritage-listed rainforest, then come back down on the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway. In Kuranda you have free time to browse the Heritage Markets and shops. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you can travel without worrying about transport.
Program
Get picked up at your hotel and
ride the Skyrail up to Kuranda
In the morning, you are picked up from your Cairns accommodation and taken to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway terminal. Board the Skyrail and glide quietly over World Heritage-listed rainforest on your way to Kuranda, the village in the rainforest.
Walk through the rainforest at the cableway stations
Stop off at the two cableway stations to walk the rainforest boardwalks and enjoy the views from the lookouts. You can also visit the CSIRO Interpretive Centre to learn more about the rainforest.
Enjoy free time in Kuranda village
When you arrive in Kuranda, you have free time to explore. Browse the Heritage Markets, open daily, and the many shops in the village. Lunch is not included, so you can buy your own in Kuranda.
Ride the Kuranda Scenic Railway back down
Board the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway and travel through hand-carved tunnels and over bridges spanning gorges. After the train ride, a coach takes you back to your accommodation in Cairns.
※ Depending on the option, some itineraries use a coach and the Kuranda Scenic Railway without the Skyrail, so please check the option you booked.
