near the Summer Palace entrance

When you arrive at the shop near the Summer Palace entrance, show your order number to the staff and they will help you choose an outfit. Choose from clean, well-kept hanfu such as elegant Ming dynasty styles, refined Song dynasty styles, mystical Tang dynasty styles and Qing court Manchu robes. Adult and children's sizes and styles are available, making it great for families, couples and friends. After choosing your outfit, you pay a 500 yuan deposit on site, which is fully refunded when you return the outfit.

Complete your look with classical makeup and hair accessories

If you choose an option with makeup and hair accessories, a stylist will create a natural base makeup and traditional look tailored to your face shape, outfit and preferences. Complete your style with handmade headpieces, hairpins, dangling jewelry, silk flowers and tassels. Makeup and hair styling take about 30 to 40 minutes.

Take photos around the Summer Palace with classical props

Classical props such as round fans, flower lanterns and oil-paper umbrellas are available for free. Once you are ready, enter the Summer Palace with your ticket and visit popular photo spots such as Kunming Lake, the Seventeen-Arch Bridge and the Long Corridor. You can wear your hanfu inside the Summer Palace all day, so you can stroll leisurely through the Qing imperial garden and take photos.
