Fort San Domingo is a national first-class historic site built in Tamsui more than 300 years ago. Buildings from the Dutch colonial period, Qing rule and Japanese colonial period remain here, and the main buildings are Fort Antonio (安東尼堡), built by the Dutch in 1644, and the British Consulate, built during the British administration. You can also see the South Gate, a city gate from the Qing dynasty.
The buildings served various purposes, including military defense, consular offices and an underground prison. From the square in front of the fort, you can enjoy views of the Tamsui River and Guanyin Mountain, and the site is also known for the Shutai (戍臺) sunset, one of the Eight Views of Tamsui.

Also known as Xiaobaigong, the Little White House is the former residence of the Qing dynasty Customs Commissioner, with more than 100 years of history. It is a Spanish-style white veranda building with white walls and an orange roof, and its row of arched corridors is the highlight.

Hobe Fort is a fortress built with sturdy materials in a strategically advantageous location. It was an important coastal defense facility during Taiwan's modernization in the 19th-century Qing dynasty.
