Program
From Tiananmen Square to the Forbidden City
with a professional guide
Follow your guide around Tiananmen Square and the iconic buildings nearby for about 1 hour. You enter the square through the operator's passage, saving entry time. Then pass through the Meridian Gate, the main gate, to enter the Forbidden City.
Visit the imperial halls along the central axis
Spend about 3 hours in the Forbidden City visiting major halls along the central axis, such as the Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Preserving Harmony, Hall of Central Harmony, Palace of Heavenly Purity and Palace of Earthly Tranquility. The route continues to the Six Eastern Palaces and the Imperial Garden, with clear commentary on the history and architecture of each site. Commentary can be heard through earphones (depending on the option).
Admire imperial treasures in the Treasure Gallery
The tour finishes at the Treasure Gallery. Admire exquisite imperial jade, porcelain and gold artifacts, then the tour ends at the North Gate of the Forbidden City.
Choose the course and departure time that suit you
The Tiananmen, Forbidden City & Treasure Gallery group tour takes about 4.5 hours and departs at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:30 AM from Laoshe Tea House (Qianmen branch). The Forbidden City & Treasure Gallery group tour (without Tiananmen Square) takes about 4 hours and departs at 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM from the Bank of China Dong'anmen branch. There are also options for a Tiananmen Square reservation only, or a Forbidden City ticket + guided entry for last-minute bookings.
※ If Tiananmen Square is closed without notice due to government events, it will be skipped; the Palace Museum visit is prioritized and Jingshan Park is visited as an alternative stop.

For the Forbidden City ticket + guided entry option, please arrive at Exit C by 8:30 AM. Staff will be waiting to guide you through the ticket purchase process.
