Program
Walk the central axis of the Forbidden City
with a history expert
After meeting your guide outside Donghua Gate, you'll head to the Meridian Gate (Wumen), the main entrance with the ticket office, and enter the Forbidden City. Follow the central axis past its grand halls while your certified guide shares imperial history and hidden stories. The tour lasts about 2 hours 30 minutes, and you're free to ask questions.
Hear every word with a wireless earpiece
Sanitized wireless earpieces are provided at no extra charge so you can hear the guide clearly even in the busy Forbidden City. Small-group tours have up to 30 participants including adults and children, and with the private tour, only your party joins the guide.
Option to visit Tiananmen Square as well
The Tiananmen & Forbidden City tour option meets at the MUJI store in Beijing Fun (Beijingfang) and enters the Forbidden City via Tiananmen Square. Meeting times are 7:30 AM (entry 8:00), 9:00 AM (entry 9:30) or 11:00 AM (entry 11:30). Security checks at Tiananmen Square can take 30–40 minutes in the off-season and about 1 hour in peak season.
※ Tickets for the Treasure Gallery and the Clock Gallery are not included. If you'd like to visit them, please pay separately on site.

For the in-depth Forbidden City tour and private tour options. Face Donghua Gate with its red walls and decorated roof, and wait near the stone bridge or the wall. Donghua Gate is exit-only, so do not enter through the gate. The large museum rules sign just outside the gate is an easy landmark. There is no ticket office at Donghua Gate, so your guide will lead you to the main Meridian Gate (Wumen).
