Cycle around Mai Chau Valley

Leave your hotel around 7:30-8:00 AM and drive about 3.5-4 hours, including a short break, to Mai Chau Valley. In the afternoon, head to Nim Cave and take a short hike to a viewpoint overlooking Mai Chau Valley.
Spend the night at a mountain lodge in Pu Luong

In the late afternoon, continue to Pu Luong Nature Reserve, check in to your mountain accommodation and relax with views of the terraced rice fields. Dinner is served at the lodge.
After breakfast on day 2, visit the home of a Thai artisan in Lan village to learn how silk is made, from cocoon to finished fabric, and try weaving yourself. On Thursdays and Sundays, also explore Pho Doan local market, where ethnic minority communities trade local produce and handicrafts.
Trek through terraced fields and board a bamboo raft

See traditional bamboo water wheels and rural life in Chieng Lau village, then trek 1-2 km past terraced rice fields, gardens and remote villages to Cham Stream. Board a bamboo raft and drift gently downstream while enjoying a freshly prepared lunch on the raft.
