Travel by air-conditioned bus from Hanoi's Old Quarter or Ninh Binh to visit the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, take a sampan boat ride in Tam Coc, cycle through a Ninh Binh village and visit Mua Cave. An English-speaking guide accompanies you, and lunch, two bottles of water and entrance fees are included. The group tour from Hanoi picks up in the Old Quarter between 7:20 and 7:40 AM and returns around 7:00-7:30 PM.

Explore the royal temples of ancient Hoa Lu

After about a 2-hour drive from Hanoi (with a 20-minute break), arrive at Hoa Lu, Vietnam's ancient capital. Visit the 10th-century temples of King Dinh and King Le and hear their history from your guide. Then enjoy lunch at a restaurant (vegetarian food available).

Ride a sampan through the caves of Tam Coc

After lunch, head to Tam Coc pier and ride a wooden sampan boat along the Ngo Dong River through three caves. On request after booking, you can switch to the Trang An option to visit the Trang An cave complex (USD 5 extra per person).

Cycle through a village and climb Mua Cave

Cycle through Ninh Binh's countryside villages. If you prefer not to cycle, you can walk around the village or relax at a restaurant. Finally, visit Mua Cave and climb the steps for panoramic views of Tam Coc, the countryside and the Ngo Dong River before returning to Hanoi.
