This is a ticket for the water puppet show at the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre near Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. The show lasts about 50 minutes, and you choose one of the showtimes (16:10, 17:20, 18:30, 20:00) at booking. Seating is divided into VIP (Rows 1-6), Deluxe (Rows 7-11) and Standard (Rows 12-16), and combo options with a multilingual audio guide are also available.

The world of water puppetry,
over a thousand years old

Water puppetry is a uniquely Vietnamese traditional art that began more than a thousand years ago in the Red River Delta. It originated when villagers stood waist-deep in flooded rice paddies and performed with puppets over the water. Puppeteers hidden behind a screen move the puppets with long rods, so they appear to glide across the water on their own.

In its early days, water puppetry portrayed village life such as farming, fishing, children's play and romance, and today it also brings ancient Vietnamese legends and myths to the stage.

Throughout the show, traditional musicians and singers perform live, enhancing every scene. The theater is designed for close-up views of the water stage, and the short show is ideal for all ages.
