After hotel pickup in Hanoi Old Quarter, ride a limousine bus for about 2 hours to arrive in Ninh Binh around 10:00 AM. This small-group tour of up to 12 people with an English-speaking guide includes village cycling, a local home visit, a set-menu lunch and a river boat ride on every route. Depending on which of the 5 routes you book, you also visit Mua Cave, Tam Coc or Trang An, Hoa Lu and Bich Dong Pagoda before returning to Hanoi by limousine.

Cycle along quiet paths through rice fields surrounded by limestone mountains and take in Ninh Binh's countryside. Visit a local family in the Tam Coc area to see the architecture of their home and their daily life up close. Lunch is a Vietnamese set menu featuring Ninh Binh specialties at a local restaurant.

Climb to the Mua Cave viewpoint over Tam Coc

On routes that include Mua Cave, hike to the top of Ngoa Long Mountain. From the summit, enjoy a sweeping view of Tam Coc's rivers, rice fields and karst mountains.

Take a boat in Tam Coc or Trang An and visit historic sites

On Tam Coc routes, a local rows you in a small boat for about 1.5 hours through Tam Coc, known as "Ha Long Bay on land"; on Trang An routes, the boat ride lasts about 2 hours. Depending on the route, visit the temples of King Dinh and King Le in Hoa Lu, Vietnam's 10th-century ancient capital, or spend 30 minutes at Bich Dong Pagoda.
