Between 7 and 8 AM, meet at a District 1 meeting point or get picked up from your hotel depending on your option, then drive about 1.5 hours to My Tho. Over about 8 hours with an English-speaking guide, experience the nature and local life of the Mekong Delta through a pagoda visit, boat cruise, coconut village visit and traditional performance, returning to Ho Chi Minh City at around 5:30 PM.

See architecture blending three cultures at Vinh Trang Pagoda

Visit the grand Vinh Trang Pagoda, where Vietnamese, Khmer and Chinese architectural styles come together. On the way to My Tho, watch the cityscape give way to rice paddies and old villages.

Ride a wooden boat and a sampan
along the Tien River and coconut canals

Cruise along the Tien River on a traditional wooden boat, passing stilt houses, fishing boats and riverside villages, and stop at Turtle Island (Qui Island). Then follow the winding Bao Dinh Canal to Ben Tre Province, known as the "Land of Coconuts", and ride a traditional sampan through canals shaded by coconut trees.

Visit a coconut candy workshop and fruit garden

Learn about the local "garden-pond-cage" farming system, watch artisans make coconut candy and taste it fresh. Sip fragrant honey tea under the coconut trees and enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch of local specialties at a riverside restaurant.

In the afternoon, stroll through a tropical fruit garden and enjoy a live performance of Don Ca Tai Tu, the traditional folk music of Southern Vietnam.
