and limestone scenery in one day
After pickup in Hanoi Old Quarter around 7:00–8:00 AM, head to Ninh Binh. With an English-speaking guide, visit the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, take a boat trip in Trang An or Tam Coc and climb to the Mua Cave viewpoint, with a village bike ride and lunch buffet along the way, before returning to Hanoi around 7:00–7:30 PM.
Visit Hoa Lu, Vietnam's ancient capital

Hoa Lu was Vietnam's capital from 968 to 1010. Explore the temples dedicated to the Dinh and Le dynasties and hear about Vietnam's feudal history leading up to the Ly dynasty. Afterwards, you can optionally cycle around the village to see local life up close, and enjoy a buffet lunch of local dishes such as goat meat and fried rice (vegetarian options available).
Take a boat ride in Trang An or Tam Coc

Depending on your option, you take a boat ride in one location. On the Tam Coc route, a bamboo boat carries you for about 1.5 hours through rice fields, rivers and caves in the scenery known as "Ha Long Bay on land." On the Trang An route, a traditional 4-person sampan glides along a clear river under caves and limestone arches in this UNESCO World Heritage site.
Look out over Tam Coc from Mua Cave

At Mua Cave, climb about 500 steps to the top of Lying Dragon Mountain for a panoramic view over Tam Coc. Those who prefer not to climb can stop halfway, or take photos and enjoy a coffee below while waiting for the group. The return to Hanoi starts around 5:00 PM.
※ You visit only one of Trang An or Tam Coc, depending on your option.
