Head to the Fontainebleau Forest

Meet your driver-guide at the meeting point in central Paris and board a minivan for up to 8 people. After about 75 minutes through the southern suburbs of Paris, you arrive at the vast Fontainebleau Forest, once a royal hunting ground.

Explore the Palace of Fontainebleau with an audio guide

On arrival, receive your entry ticket and individual audio guide and visit for about 2 hours. Many kings, from Francis I to Napoleon III, lived here and left their mark. Walk through the courtyards, the grand staircase and lavishly decorated rooms, and learn how the palace changed over the centuries.

Admire the Renaissance gallery decorated with paintings and sculptures, the royal apartments, Napoleon I's official throne room and the theater restored under Napoleon III, then step outside to stroll through the gardens and park with their lakes and canals.

Pass through the artists' village of Barbizon and return to Paris

Board the minivan again and head to Barbizon, a village on the edge of the forest. In the 19th century, painters such as Corot, Millet and Rosa Bonheur lived here and painted nature, and your guide explains this artistic heritage as you pass through. Then drive about 75 minutes back to the starting point.
