Enjoy a short tea ceremony with a maiko or geiko near Gojo Subway Station, close to Kyoto Station, in this approximately 45-minute experience. The maiko demonstrates how to prepare matcha, and you taste the matcha you make yourself with Japanese dry sweets. During the Q&A session, you can ask about the daily life and world of a maiko directly. At the end, take a commemorative photo right beside her and receive a senjafuda good-luck charm as a gift.

Enjoy a tea ceremony with a maiko
in Gojo near Kyoto Station
This approximately 45-minute program takes place in a building near Gojo Subway Station. It is close to Kyoto Station, so it is easy to join even if you have limited time in Kyoto. Depending on the day, a maiko or geiko hosts the session, and we cannot confirm in advance who will attend on your day.
Learn from a maiko and make your own matcha

The maiko or geiko demonstrates and explains how to prepare matcha. You then make your own tea and enjoy it with two kinds of small Japanese dry sweets called ohigashi.
Discover the world of a maiko in a Q&A session

The highlight of the program is the Q&A session. Rather than simply watching a maiko or geiko, you can ask questions yourself and hear about her daily life and world.
Take a commemorative photo and receive a senjafuda

After the tea ceremony and Q&A, take a commemorative photo right next to the maiko or geiko. As a special gift, you also receive a senjafuda good-luck charm.
※ Program flow: greeting → tea ceremony (2 kinds of Japanese dry sweets and matcha) → Q&A → program ends at about 30 minutes → photo time → senjafuda gift → leave the room at about 45 minutes
※ A maiko performance is not included.
※ The experience takes place in a room inside a regular building, not an ochaya or traditional house, and may be held alongside other guests having lunch or dinner.
