About the Host

Highlights

Rent a kimono from Momoka (萌々香), a kimono rental shop in Kyoto's Gion district, and spend the day strolling around Kyoto. The kimono experience plan includes a kimono, sash, small bag, tabi socks, sandals, and standard hair styling, and it takes about 45 minutes from choosing your kimono to finishing your hair. After dressing, you can leave your luggage at the shop and explore nearby sights freely until the 5:00 PM return time. Photo shoots with a photographer, makeup, and an extra accessory can also be added as separate options.

Program

Choose a kimono at the Gion shop
and get your hair styled

After checking in at the shop, choose a kimono, get dressed with help from the staff, and have a standard hairstyle done. It takes about 45 minutes from choosing your kimono to hair styling. Upgraded hair styling is not included.

Explore nearby sights in your kimono

Once you are ready, leave your luggage at the shop and stroll around Gion and nearby sights. Return to the shop by 5:00 PM on the same day to return your kimono and change back into your clothes. The shop closes at 6:00 PM.

Remember the day with photo and makeup options

A 60-minute photo shoot for 3, 4, or 5 people and a makeup service are available as add-on options. Photographers and makeup artists must be booked at least 1 week in advance. The 1 small item plan is an add-on to select after choosing the kimono experience plan.

※ Traditional Japanese footwear can be difficult to walk in, so please keep this in mind when booking.
※ Bookings are canceled if you arrive more than 20 minutes late.
