Tickets are booked with your passport details, such as your name, passport number and ID type. No physical ticket or QR code is needed; entry is linked directly to your passport, so simply show your original passport on site. You explore on your own at your own pace without a guide.
Choose the combination that suits your plans
Choose from Tiananmen Square reservation only, Forbidden City ticket only, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City together, the Forbidden City with the Treasure Gallery, or Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City including 2 interior galleries. Entry to Tiananmen Square is free but requires a reservation one day in advance, so the reservation-only option includes the booking service only.
Enter any time within your booked time slot
Forbidden City entry slots are morning 08:30–12:00 and afternoon 11:00–16:00 (11:00–15:30 from November to March). These are not fixed times; you can enter at any time within your booked slot.
※ Security checks at Tiananmen Square usually take over 1 hour. If you're visiting the Forbidden City afterwards, please arrive early.
※ Some halls and rooms in the Forbidden City may be closed for regular maintenance.
