The tour runs in small groups of up to 15 people.
On day 1, meet your guide in Uyuni around 10:30 AM. Stop at the Train Cemetery full of abandoned trains, then visit Colchani, a small village once home to salt miners, to browse salt handicrafts and textiles made from llama and alpaca fiber. Next, tour the hotel and museum built of salt, the Flags of the World and the Dakar Rally monument.
If you wish, you can visit Incahuasi Island in the middle of the salt flat for an extra fee. Take perspective photos against the white salt flat and end the day watching the sunset with a glass of wine. The first night is at Agencha Hostel (double, triple or quadruple rooms with private bathroom).
On day 2, after an early breakfast, head to the Chiguana Desert to see a landscape surrounded by volcanoes, including the active Ollagüe Volcano. Follow the rocky El Pasito Tuntún road to the Cañapa, Hedionda and Chiarcota lagoons and look out for flamingos.
After lunch, enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve and see the Árbol de Roca rock formation in the Siloli Desert. Continue to Huayllajara and admire the red lake and flamingos from the Laguna Roja viewpoint. The second night is in a 6-bed dormitory with shared bathroom at Albergue Huayllajara.
On day 3, set off early around 5:00 AM to the Sol de Mañana geysers at about 5,000 m above sea level. Walk past mud vents boiling at 150–200°C, then warm up in outdoor hot springs at 35°C.
Next, cross the Dalí Desert and admire the Green and White Lagoons at the foot of Licancabur Volcano. With your guide's help, cross the Bolivia–Chile border; the tour ends at the main square of San Pedro de Atacama.
