After hotel pickup in Hoi An or Da Nang, travel to My Son Sanctuary in an air-conditioned vehicle. An English-speaking guide leads you around the ruins, and you try rice paper making and have a meal at a local home before returning to your hotel. Tours run in groups of up to 12 and take about 6 to 8 hours depending on the option.

The early morning tour starts around 5:15 AM to see the ruins before the crowds, while the morning tour starts around 7:30 AM and includes a Champa dance show and a Thu Bon River boat ride.

My Son is a Hindu temple complex in Duy Xuyen district, built between the 4th and 13th centuries and dedicated to Shiva as a sacred site of the Cham people. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. Your guide shares stories about Cham history and Hindu rituals.

On the morning tour, you can also watch a traditional Champa dance performance at the site. The My Son entrance fee (150,000 VND per person) is not included and is paid on site.

After visiting My Son, stop at a local home (homestay) to try making rice paper. The early morning tour includes breakfast with mi quang noodles, seasonal fruit, coffee and tea, while the morning tour includes lunch with mi quang noodles, seasonal fruit and tea. Vegetarian options are available.

Enjoy a Thu Bon River boat and a coconut jungle basket boat

On the morning tour, relax on a Thu Bon River boat ride of about 20 minutes after your meal. If you choose a coconut jungle option, head to Cam Thanh coconut village and ride a bamboo basket boat with a local boatman through the palm waterways for 30 to 40 minutes. Watch basket boat spinning and net casting, and try crab fishing and rowing.
