and stroll the streets of Kyoto
Rent a kimono at Yumeyakata, a kimono rental shop in the Gojo area of Shimogyo, Kyoto. Kimonos are available all year and yukatas in summer, for men, women and children. The kimono, obi, socks and zori are included, so you can arrive empty-handed. Opening hours are 10:00–18:00, with last entry at 17:00 and last return at 18:00.
Choose your favorite kimono
When you arrive, show your confirmation email, fill out a personal information form and choose the kimono color you like. You can freely match an obi and kimono accessories (additional items), and the staff will help if you are unsure. Men's kimonos also come in a wide range of colors and patterns.
Professional staff dress you one-on-one
Any additional items are settled first, then a professional dresser helps you put on the kimono one-on-one. Afterwards, choose a Japanese-style bag made for kimonos to carry your valuables, and leave the rest of your belongings at the shop free of charge. Hair styling and makeup are additional services that require advance reservation.
