Visit the calligraphy museum by Hengshan Pond

The Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center is named after the traditional name of the area and sits on the banks of Hengshan Pond in Taoyuan. The main building is shaped like five square seal stones, evoking an inkstone grinding ink. Embracing the pond and the shifting light and shadow of day and night, it reflects the natural atmosphere of an ink painting in harmony with its surroundings.

Admire award-winning architecture

The building won the 2022 Taiwan Architecture Award, the Gold Award at the 2022 Global Excellence in Construction Awards and the 2022 Good Design Award in Japan, and was also selected as a top ten exhibition platform.

A public museum that researches and promotes Taiwanese calligraphy

The Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center is a public calligraphy museum whose mission is the preservation, research, development and promotion of Taiwanese calligraphy. It aims to build a foundation for calligraphy research and education, shape local artistic and cultural characteristics and expand international calligraphy exchange. Since opening in 2021, it has worked to connect Taoyuan culture with the calligraphy community as an international calligraphy hub.
