Highlights
On this small-group tour, you head out by boat with a local Okinawan fisherman to the waters of the Chibishi area, rarely visited by tourists. While snorkeling in clear water, you watch from underwater as the fisherman free-dives and catches fish with a spear in the traditional Okinawan way. After snorkeling, you taste fresh seafood on board and hear the fisherman talk about Okinawa's fishing culture and life at sea. With a maximum of 5 participants at a time, you'll see a side of Okinawa's sea far from the crowded tourist spots.

Head out to the Chibishi sea
with a local fisherman
Meet at Tomari Iyumachi in Naha and take a boat to the Chibishi area. A professional captain and local guide accompany you, and you can choose between a morning and an afternoon tour.
Watch traditional spearfishing while snorkeling
Enjoy snorkeling in clear water while observing from underwater as a local fisherman dives below the surface and catches fish with a spear. You can see up close the traditional Okinawan free-diving fishing technique of a fisherman who finds fish thanks to years of experience. Masks, snorkels, fins and wetsuits are provided.
Taste fresh seafood on the boat
After snorkeling, return to the boat to taste fresh seafood. Hear directly from the fisherman about life at sea, local fishing traditions and Okinawa's relationship with the ocean.
