Highlights
Take a speedboat from North Naha Marina out to the clear sea of the Kerama Islands and spend time with local fishermen. Snorkel in waters full of coral reefs and tropical fish, watch local fishermen demonstrate traditional spearfishing up close, then try catching fish yourself. On the morning plan you have lunch with your catch at an Okinawa soba shop run by a fisherman friend, and on the afternoon plan you cook on the boat. It's a relaxed small-group experience with chances to interact with locals.
Program
Take a speedboat from North Naha Marina
to the Kerama sea
Meet at North Naha Marina, take a short car ride, then ride a speedboat for about 45 minutes to the Kerama sea. The morning plan starts at 8:00 AM and the afternoon plan at 1:00 PM.
Snorkel in crystal-clear water
Snorkel among coral reefs and colorful tropical fish in the Kerama sea, famous for its clear water. All snorkeling gear is included, and the guide shows you great spots for photos and videos. You spend about 3 hours at sea.
Experience local fishermen's traditional spearfishing
After snorkeling, watch local fishermen demonstrate traditional spearfishing, then try catching fish yourself with respect for life. On the afternoon plan, you cook on the boat with the local fishermen.
Have Okinawa soba lunch with your catch
Lunch is included in the morning plan. At "Honke Kamesoba Minatomachi main store", an Okinawa soba shop run by a fisherman friend, you eat your catch with Okinawa soba. If you like, you can pay extra to enjoy your catch, Okinawan dishes and awamori at a local izakaya in the evening.
