Ride the Golden Route
on the Nozomi Shinkansen
The Golden Route connecting Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, Japan's three major cities, is the most popular route for first-time visitors. Use this Nozomi one-way ticket to travel between Tokyo and Kyoto, Tokyo and Shin-Osaka, or Shin-Osaka and Kyoto.
Tell us your preferred departure date and time slot when booking; we will reserve the nearest Nozomi train and email your QR code ticket.
Choose your direction and seat
Tickets are available in both directions for each route, with non-reserved (Ordinary Car), reserved (Ordinary Car) and reserved (Green Car) seats.
The Green Car is a premium class with wider, more comfortable seats and more legroom than the Ordinary Car.
Non-reserved vs reserved seats
Non-reserved tickets are valid on any train of the same type on the selected day; sit in any free seat in the non-reserved cars (first come, first served). You may have to stand if seats are full, and you can pay extra at the station for a reserved seat.
Reserved tickets have a fixed departure time and seat. If you miss your train or change the time, the ticket remains valid, but you may need to rebook a seat.
Book the oversized baggage option for large luggage
If your luggage measures 160-250 cm in total dimensions, please also book the oversized baggage seat option. It can only be used with reserved (Ordinary or Green Car) tickets.
Luggage over 250 cm is not allowed on the train.

How To Use
When booking, be sure to provide your departure date, preferred time slot (e.g., 6:00-6:30 AM) and email address. There are 3-4 departures per hour, and the nearest train will be booked.
Your QR code ticket will be emailed within 1 business day for weekday bookings and within 2 business days for weekend bookings.
Scan your QR code ticket at the Shinkansen gate to board.
