This e-ticket for foreign visitors lets you ride the Sanyo Shinkansen one way on the section you need, from Osaka through Okayama, Fukuyama, Hiroshima and Shin-Yamaguchi to Kokura and Hakata. Most sections include one reserved seat exchange, so you can pick your seat in advance at a green ticket vending machine. The Kokura - Hakata section is non-reserved only, and you collect the ticket at a dedicated machine in the station.

A one-way Sanyo Shinkansen e-ticket
from Osaka to Hakata

The Sanyo Shinkansen is the high-speed line linking major cities of western Japan from Shin-Osaka to Hakata. With this ticket, choose your departure and arrival among Osaka, Okayama/Kurashiki, Onomichi/Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Shin-Yamaguchi and Kokura/Hakata, and ride one way once.

Reserve your seat in advance
with one seat exchange

All options except the Kokura - Hakata section include one reserved seat exchange. Collect your reserved seat ticket at a green ticket vending machine or green counter before boarding; if you do not reserve or seats are sold out, take a non-reserved seat.

The Kokura - Hakata section is non-reserved only, valid on non-reserved seats of Nozomi, Mizuho, Sakura, Hikari and Kodama trains on the day of use.

Get your paper ticket
with the QR code and passport

A confirmation email is sent after booking. Scan the e-ticket QR code and your passport issued by a government other than Japan at a green ticket vending machine at the station to get the paper ticket. The machine menu is also available in Korean.

If the machine is out of service or your passport has no IC chip, exchange at a JR West ticket office. Kokura - Hakata non-reserved tickets are collected at the dedicated machine at the Shinkansen gate of Kokura Station (from Kokura) or Hakata Station (from Hakata).

For temporary visitors from abroad only

Only travellers holding a passport issued by a government other than Japan and entering Japan as a "Temporary Visitor" may use this ticket. Japanese nationals and holders of student or work status cannot use it.

※ During Golden Week, Obon and New Year, all Nozomi seats are reserved and this ticket is not valid on Nozomi. Please use non-reserved seats on Hikari, Kodama, Mizuho or Sakura.
※ Ticket exchange machines are available from 05:30 (Japan time) every day.

How To Use

A confirmation email with the e-ticket QR code is sent after booking.
