Take the bus from Beijing
to the Jinshanling Great Wall

The join-in group tour departs daily at 07:30 from the Regent Hotel parking lot near Exit C of Dengshikou Station on Metro Line 5. Groups have up to 45 people, and an English-speaking attendant joins when there are more than 20 participants. The small-group tour has up to 12 people and picks you up at your hotel between 07:30 and 08:00.

Although Jinshanling is near Beijing, it is in Hebei Province, so the one-way drive takes about 2 hours.

Walk the wall freely for about 5 hours 30 minutes

At Jinshanling you spend about 5 hours 30 minutes exploring on your own in a self-guided format. There is plenty of time to hike, climb and take photos as much as you like.

Choose a recommended route that suits your fitness

Essential route, about 2.5 hours: Enter at the Middle Gate, follow the path up to the brick wall, walk to Shalingkou, and return along the path to the Middle Gate.

Photographer route, about 3.5 hours: From the Middle Gate, climb to the brick wall and walk to Xiaojinshan Tower, then take the one-way cable car from Xiaojinshan back to the Middle Gate (cable car paid on site).

Full route, about 4.5 hours: From the Middle Gate, climb to the brick wall and walk east to Wuchao Tower, descend to the East Gate and take the shuttle bus back to the Middle Gate.

Return to the same place and arrive in Beijing

After your visit, please return to the designated meeting point, visitor center or bus stop before departure time. The bus leaves Jinshanling at 15:30 and arrives in Beijing around 17:30–18:00. The join-in tour drops you off where you met in the morning, and the small-group tour at your hotel.
