Depart from your hotel
for Huairou, home of the Great Wall
Get picked up from your Beijing hotel lobby and drive about 1 hour 30 minutes to Huairou District, where the Great Wall is located. This is a private tour with an English-speaking guide.
Take a helicopter
and see the Great Wall from above
Fly about 45 km in roughly 15 minutes, viewing the Mutianyu Great Wall and the famously rugged Jiankou section from the air. Look down on the wall winding along the mountain ridges and take photos.
Ride the cable car up
and walk the Mutianyu wall
After the flight, spend about 3 hours at the Mutianyu Great Wall. Ride the cable car up and down, or take the chairlift up and the toboggan down, and walk along the wall at your own pace taking photos. Afterwards, drive about 1 hour 30 minutes back to Beijing.
