A private vehicle and driver pick you up from your hotel in Beijing or Capital Airport and stay with you all day. Vehicles from 5 to 17 seats are assigned depending on group size, and the drive to Mutianyu takes about 1.5 hours.

Enjoy panoramic views at the Mutianyu Great Wall

Spend 2 to 3 hours at the Mutianyu section in Huairou District, about 75 km northeast of central Beijing. Either a round-trip cable car ride or a chairlift ride up with a toboggan ride down is included. From Tower 20, the highest point at 1,039 m above sea level, enjoy panoramic views of the wall stretching across the hills.

Have lunch near Mutianyu

After visiting the Great Wall, head to a spot near Mutianyu for about an hour for lunch. Lunch is included in the tour.

Explore the imperial Summer Palace in the afternoon

In the afternoon, drive about 1.5 hours to the Summer Palace and explore it for about 2 hours. First built in 1750 under Emperor Qianlong as the Garden of Clear Ripples, it was destroyed during the Second Opium War in 1860 and rebuilt by Empress Dowager Cixi in 1886. Admire the lakes, hills and classical architecture across the 2.9 km² grounds before returning to your hotel or the airport.
