Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall & Ming Tombs Private Tour

Head to the Mutianyu Great Wall
in a private vehicle from your hotel

After pickup from your Beijing hotel, ride in a private vehicle for about 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Mutianyu is a little farther than the famous Badaling section but much less crowded. The tour start time can be set to suit your needs.

Walk along the fully restored Mutianyu wall

Spend about 2.5 hours at Mutianyu walking along the wall. This section is fully restored, with handrails on the steepest parts to help you climb, and the views are spectacular. Great Wall admission and the scenic area shuttle bus are included, while the cable car or chairlift and toboggan can be used separately.

Discover the history of the Ming emperors at the Ming Tombs

After the Great Wall, drive about 1 hour to the Ming Tombs and explore for about 2 hours. Three areas are open to the public: the Sacred Way, Changling and Dingling, and you visit one of them based on your interests. The Sacred Way is the main road leading to the 13 imperial tombs, lined with stone statues of 12 animals and 6 officials. Changling is the largest and oldest of the Ming tombs, and Dingling is the only one whose underground palace has been excavated. At the end of the tour, ride about 1.5 hours back to your hotel in the private vehicle.
