Depending on the option, you visit the Mutianyu or Badaling section. Badaling is large and easy to reach, while Mutianyu is known for its well-preserved walls and beautiful views.

Ride the cable car up and explore the watchtowers

On arrival, ride the cable car up onto the wall. At Mutianyu, you can also take the ski lift up or ride the slide down after your visit. The guide leads you through several watchtowers and shares the legends of the Great Wall, and you have free time to take photos at your own pace.

Have a local lunch and head to the Ming Tombs

After coming down from the wall, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and head to the Ming Tombs. The tombs of 13 Ming emperors are scattered at the foot of Tianshou Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

See the Sacred Way, Dingling Underground Palace and Changling

Options with the Sacred Way start on this ceremonial road once used by imperial funeral processions, lined with stone statues of people and animals. Dingling is the only excavated Ming imperial tomb, where you walk through the underground palace and see relics in the museum. Changling is the largest tomb of the site, famous for its elaborate wooden architecture and grand halls. After the tour, your driver takes you back to your hotel in Beijing.
