Start your Beijing trip at
Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City

Meet your guide in your downtown Beijing hotel lobby between 7:00 and 8:00 AM and travel by vehicle to Tiananmen Square. The exact pickup time is confirmed the day before. Stroll around the square and take photos of landmarks such as the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum, the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall and the Monument to the People's Heroes.

Next, enter the Forbidden City (Palace Museum), the center of imperial China from 1420 to 1911. Your guide leads you along the central axis from the Meridian Gate to the Gate of Divine Prowess, helping you see the key palaces efficiently while avoiding the busiest areas.

Climb the Mutianyu Great Wall and walk along the ramparts

After a drive of about 1 hour 30 minutes, arrive at the relatively uncrowded Mutianyu Great Wall. Before the climb, refuel with a lunch buffet of local dishes and soft drinks.

Choose between a round-trip cable car or a chairlift up and a toboggan ride down. Walk along the wall and watchtowers that wind over the ridges for about 2 hours, enjoying the views, before returning to your hotel downtown.

On day two, discover the Temple of Heaven and the hutongs

Depart from your hotel at the confirmed time and head to the Temple of Heaven, where emperors once prayed for good harvests. With your guide, see the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and the Circular Mound Altar, and experience the acoustic effect of the Echo Wall.

Then ride a traditional rickshaw through the hutong alleys and visit a local family's courtyard home for a close look at everyday Beijing life. Lunch is at your own leisure, and your guide will suggest places to suit your taste.

Experience imperial culture at
the Lama Temple and the Summer Palace

Visit the Lama Temple (Yonghe Temple), which blends Han Chinese and Tibetan architecture, then explore the Summer Palace, an imperial garden with Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. Walk beneath the painted Long Corridor before returning to your hotel.
