Program
Depart from your Beijing hotel
for the Mutianyu Great Wall
Depending on your option, you will be picked up from your downtown Beijing hotel or meet at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center or the Regent Beijing. Travel by van for about 2 hours to Mutianyu in Huairou District, northeast of Beijing, about 75 km from the city center.
Ride the cable car up to the wall
With your tour leader, ride the cable car or chairlift up to the wall. Mutianyu is one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall and historically served as an important northern defense protecting the capital. Walk along the wall and photograph the views of dense forests and mountains.
Slide down on the toboggan
If you took the chairlift up, slide down the mountain on the toboggan; if you chose the round-trip cable car, ride the cable car back down. The tour includes either the chairlift up with the toboggan down, or a round-trip cable car ride.
End the tour at your hotel or Wangfujing
After the tour, the van takes about 2 hours to bring you back to your hotel or Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, where you can go shopping and try local food.
