This day tour departs by bus from Fukuoka, visits the hells of Beppu and the hot spring town of Yufuin, and lets you complete the day with one of two courses. The Brewery Course visits Mamedamachi, the old town of Hita, the Sapporo Beer Kyushu Hita Factory and the Attack on Titan museum in the author's hometown. The Dazaifu Course passes Mt. Yufu, spends more time in Yufuin and ends at Dazaifu Tenmangu, the shrine of the god of learning. Guides speak Korean, English and Chinese.
Program
Depart from Fukuoka
and choose one of two courses
Depart from the location of your option: HEARTS Bus Station Hakata (departure 7:50 a.m.) or Fukuoka Central Post Office (departure 8:10 a.m.). Both the Brewery Course and the Dazaifu Course visit Beppu and Yufuin, and the rest of the day depends on your course. The guide speaks Korean, English and Chinese.
See the geothermal springs at Beppu Kamado Jigoku
Spend about 30 minutes at Kamado Jigoku or the Kannawa area in Beppu. See steam rising from colorful hot springs in the geothermal area and take photos.
Stroll freely through the hot spring town of Yufuin
Explore the shops, cafes and lakeside path of Yufuin with mountain views. The Brewery Course stays about 2 hours and the Dazaifu Course about 3 hours, and the Dazaifu Course enjoys a view of Mt. Yufu from the bus before entering the town.
Head to Hita or Dazaifu depending on your course
The Brewery Course walks Mamedamachi, the old town of Hita, for about 50 minutes and visits the Sapporo Beer Kyushu Hita Factory and the Attack on Titan museum for about 1 hour. The Dazaifu Course spends about 1 hour at Dazaifu Tenmangu, the shrine of the god of learning.
※ The Sapporo Beer Kyushu Hita Factory is closed on November 4 and November 25, 2026, and from December 27, 2026 to February 16, 2027. During these periods, a visit to the Attack on Titan museum and dam or free time in Mamedamachi is substituted.
※ From January 1 to 3, Kokonoe Yume Otsurihashi is visited instead of Dazaifu Tenmangu.
※ The itinerary and time at each stop may change due to traffic and weather.
