From Fukuoka: Dazaifu & Beppu Ropeway and Yufuin Floral Village Day Tour

Depart Fukuoka and see
Dazaifu, Beppu and Yufuin in one day

Depart by vehicle from the meeting point near Hakata Station in Fukuoka. Throughout the day you have time to explore each stop at your own pace, try local treats, shop for souvenirs and enjoy the scenery.

Visit Dazaifu Tenmangu, the shrine of the deity of learning

After about 40 minutes, arrive at Dazaifu Tenmangu, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning. Spend about 1.5 hours exploring the grounds with historic buildings, seasonal flowers and the legendary "flying plum tree" (Tobiume).

Look over Beppu Bay from the Beppu Ropeway

After about 1.5 hours, arrive in Beppu, where you can ride the Beppu Ropeway connecting the city with the slopes of Mt. Tsurumi (optional, extra cost). Enjoy views of Beppu Bay and the surrounding mountains on the way up, then walk the trails or relax at the tea house at the top.

Stroll Yufuin and the Floral Village

In the mountain hot spring town of Yufuin, enjoy about 2 hours 20 minutes of free time. Walk streets lined with cafés, shops and traditional ryokan, and see Lake Kinrin, famous for its misty scenery, and Yufuin Floral Village, inspired by English countryside architecture. Afterward, return to the meeting point in about 100 minutes.
