Osaka/Kyoto Departure: Kyoto & Nara Day Tour (Arashiyama & Nara Park & Fushimi Inari Shrine)

My family usually travels independently, so we don't typically use package tours. However, for this family trip, we decided to sign up for this one-day bus tour to Kyoto and Nara, which was structured specifically for the itinerary my mother wanted to visit during our Osaka trip. I was worried that my mother might have difficulty understanding the guide's language skills, as the description only listed Chinese and English, and that the trip might be less enjoyable without the explanations. Fortunately, however, our guide, Sean Man-pyeong, is fluent in four languages (Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean), so my mother was able to receive substantial and informative explanations at each destination. It was a truly wonderful trip. Instead of dry explanations during travel, Sean Man-pyeong told stories in an easy-to-understand and entertaining way, keeping the tour from getting boring. Thanks to the driver (whose name I do not know) who drove us safely at every stop, we were able to spend a fulfilling and enjoyable time, even though it was only for one day. I feel like we made an excellent choice with this package tour. If we visit Osaka again and need a package tour, I would definitely use this one again, and I hope to meet the guide again. ^_^/

Thank you, Guide Zoey, for working so hard even on a day with intermittent rain. Thanks to you, I had a fun and wonderful time. It was a tour well worth the money.

We were the only Koreans on the tour. For smooth communication with our assigned guide, you must be able to speak either English or Japanese. Guide Eric was very kind; he seated us right behind him on the bus to check if we understood the English explanations. The tour was well-organized, and the driver drove safely. I liked that the route started in Kyoto, and the guides wore orange uniforms, making them easy to spot even from a distance. Personally, Nara Park was the most impressive part.

I visited Arashiyama early in the morning, so there weren't many people. I was able to fully experience the tranquil atmosphere unique to bamboo forests and take photos at my leisure. At Nara Park, the deer were bolder than I expected, so I was a bit flustered at first, but once you get used to it, playing with them is fun. Be prepared, though, as they will rush at you immediately if you are holding snacks. The torii gate section at Fushimi Inari was particularly impressive. The routes for the three locations were well connected, so I was able to spend a fulfilling day without expending much energy.
