This day tour takes you by van from Fukuoka to Yanagawa, the "City of Water," Dazaifu and Itoshima in a single day. In Yanagawa, you can enjoy a traditional boat ride along the canals (at your own expense), and in Dazaifu, enjoy lunch and snacks at your own pace around Tenmangu Shrine and its approach street. In the afternoon, stroll around Raizan Sennyoji, a peaceful temple in Itoshima, and capture the sea view at Sakurai Futamigaura, where Meoto Iwa can be seen beyond a white torii gate. You can choose between meeting at Hakata Station Chikushi Exit or hotel pickup.

Enjoy the canal scenery in Yanagawa,
the City of Water

In the morning, meet at Hakata Station Chikushi Exit or get picked up at your hotel, then head to Yanagawa by van. Spend about 2 hours in Yanagawa, where you can take a traditional boat to admire the quiet waterways, old bridges and town scenery. The boat ride usually takes 40 to 60 minutes and is at your own expense.

Spend free time at Dazaifu Tenmangu
and its approach street

Move on to Dazaifu, one of Fukuoka's best-known cultural areas, and enjoy about 1 hour and 40 minutes of free time. Visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, walk the lively approach street and enjoy local snacks and lunch at your own pace.

Stroll the peaceful grounds of Raizan Sennyoji

Spend about 50 minutes at Raizan Sennyoji, a temple surrounded by nature in the Itoshima area. Unlike crowded tourist spots, it offers a quiet atmosphere for a slow walk.

See Meoto Iwa
at Sakurai Futamigaura

Head to the Itoshima coast and stay about 50 minutes at Sakurai Futamigaura. Take photos with the white torii gate, the blue sea and Meoto Iwa, two sacred rocks joined by a rope, and enjoy the sea breeze. After the visit, return to Fukuoka in about 50 minutes, with arrival expected around 6:00 PM.
