From Fukuoka: Itoshima Meoto Iwa, Dazaifu & Yanagawa Day Tour

Depart from Hakata Station
for Itoshima's coastal photo spots

Board the coach at the meeting point in front of Hakata Station and ride about 1.5 hours to Itoshima. First, spend about 30 minutes at the coconut tree swing, taking photos in a relaxed resort atmosphere of palm trees and sea breeze. Then spend about 30 minutes at Meoto Iwa (the wedded rocks) of Sakurai Futamigaura, a signature coastal landmark of Itoshima whose unique rock formation symbolizes everlasting love.

Lunch on Ichiran ramen
and visit a waterfall or temple

Lunch is about 80 minutes, with the chance to try Ichiran ramen (meal at your own expense). The soup is made with pork bone broth, so Muslim, vegetarian and vegan guests should take note.

Depending on the season, visit Shiraito Falls surrounded by lush greenery (April–October) or the ancient Raizan Sennyoji Taihioin Temple rich in cultural heritage (November–March) for about 40 minutes. If Shiraito Falls is temporarily closed, the tour visits Raizan Sennyoji instead. Tickets are purchased separately on site.

Enjoy the canal scenery
of the water town Yanagawa

Head to Yanagawa and explore the water town along its historic canals for about 30 minutes. A traditional river cruise with boatmen singing folk songs is optional and available at your own expense.

End the trip
at Dazaifu Tenmangu

Finally, spend about an hour in Dazaifu. Explore the historic Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine, make a wish, and try local snacks such as umegae mochi along the approach (at your own expense). Then ride about 1.5 hours back to Fukuoka, where the tour ends; arrival time depends on traffic that day.
